A circular walk through DC’s green spaces – on, along or close to its distinct border

Walking the 40 mile Capitol Ring is a great way to get to know the real DC. The route comprises 6+ mostly flat or gently sloping, sections in beautiful open spaces, such as Rock Creek and Dupont Park, taking you past historic buildings and spaces, Fort Lincoln and Fletcher’s Cove, or through distinct neighborhoods, Tacoma and St Elizabeth’s – all within easy reach of a metro station, bus stop or just a few miles walk back to the Capitol. DC is a diverse city and only those that have walked through its neighborhoods and spoken to those that meet you on your way, truly understand why.
Safety – always be aware. Walk with friends, remain alert.
In in doubt – walk away and leave it out. It will still be there tomorrow.
